The Hotel and Restaurant Management program at Auburn University is one of the top Hospitality Management programs in the United States.  The program is housed in Spidle Hall which is just a short walk across the street to The Hotel at Auburn University.  Students receive hands-on experience while completing a semester-long practicum class at this ultra-luxury hotel.  Students are also required to sit for many national certification exams such as the ServSafe, Revinate, and the Certificate in Hotel Industry Analytics.  While completing coursework, students are required to complete 400 hospitality work hours as a prerequisite for the 400 hour hospitality internship.

The Child Development program at Southern Union State Community College is a 68-credit hour program that prepares students for a career in a child development center.  The program covers all age groups from infant to early education.  Students are required to observe a classroom setting, complete tangible projects, and complete a 90 hour internship.  At the end of the program, students will have the proper certification to own and operate a family child care home, work as a director, program director or teacher in a licensed childcare center, and also meets the teacher requirements for Head Start.
